GMail Address Alias - Exploring GMail

GMail the uno Mail, has more features that we would not have explored.

I am bringing you a new experience of GMail which might have been unknown for some.

GMail Address Alias

Gmail doesn't offer traditional aliases, but you can receive messages sent to your.username+any.alias@gmail.com.

For example, any messages sent to username+blogger@gmail.com are delivered to username@gmail.com.

You can set up filters to automatically direct these messages to Trash, apply a label or star, skip the inbox, or forward to another email account.

Gmail does not recognize characters after the PLUS (+) symbol but the gmail search filter can distinguish between the different address and you can therefore redirect these email to separats gmail folders or apply different labels.

Isn't this a cool feature?

Yes, it is a cool feature allows you to have different email id's for different purposes.

If I register naukri.com, monster.com or any other job site with myusername+jobseeker@gmail.com, wont the emails automatically filtered to any of the labels you require??

If I register blogger.com or any other blog site with myusername+blogger@gmail.com, wont the emails automatically filtered to any of the labels you require??

Just think off and make use of this GMail feature.

For more information, Pls visit:

Note: Most of the portals are not allowing plus (+) symbols in their email address text boxes. This is a major drawback.

Cheers :-)
