Press Ctrl + R to Search Command History

In Unix or Linux there is a ".bash_history" file which has the history report of the commands you've issued in the bash shell.

The default size of the .bash_history is the last 1000 commands. 

To search the command history you can press Ctrl + R. This enable you type the search word of the command you would like to search for.
